Lenten Journey
The season of Lent is a time for baptismal renewal and the confession of sin connected with the promise of Christ on the Cross. Christians give up and take on various tasks and disciplines during Lent.
In the hustle and bustle of 21st century America, Lent provides Christians with an opportunity to immerse themselves in their discipleship. It is easy to take our faith and discipleship for granted. It is easy to take the abundance of blessings that God has given us for granted. In our society we pull ourselves away from the presence of God, only to wander the wilderness of a dark and broken world filled with false idols and empty promises. We do not secure or earn our salvation through Lenten disciplines. They are simply another form of prayer in which God may restore to us the joy of salvation won for us through Christ on the cross. May our Lenten journey lead us to the joy of forgiveness and new life we have in Jesus Christ. Please join us for Lenten mid-week services on Wednesdays at 7 pm, beginning Ash Wednesday, Feb 10, and continuing through March 16. Yours in Christ, Pastor Adam Sornchai |
